YORUBA MAN, ANTHONY CHINASA-ABIOLA SET TO WIN UMUAHIA HSE OF ASSEMBLY SEAT UNDER LP

Umuahia – A Yoruba man from Ogun State, Hon Anthony Chinasa-Abiola is set to become a Member of the Abia State House of Assembly.

Abiola, whose parents are Yoruba was born in Umuahia, the Abia State capital and is most likely to win the election to represent Umuahia Central Constituency since he is very popular and is contesting under the platform of the Labour Party (LP).

He speaks both Igbo and Yoruba very fluently. However, Abiola has been propelled on this his unprecedented ambition by the support, both financially and otherwise of his Igbo friends who are impressed by his leadership acumen and his courage to pursue his political ambition in Ala-Igbo, regardless of his being Yoruba.

Surely, if Abiola goes on to win the election, it will be a plus for Pan-Nigerianism and Igbo-Yoruba relations.

In the first Republic, the first Mayor of Enugu was Umaru Altine, a Fulani from Bauchi State was the first mayor of Enugu, the capital of the then Eastern region.
Evidently, Igbos, based on their being known for traveling and sojourning in foreign lands are very receptive of othe Nigerians in their midst.
