VIDEO: ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT CLEARS EKPA’S KILLER SQUAD AGU-UDENE FOREST HIDEOUT FOR LARGE SCALE AGRICULTURE

Enugu– The Enugu State Government has cleared Agu-Udene forest, Akpawfu in Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State, a major hideout of Ekpa’s Killer Squad, opening it for large scale agriculture.
Hon Sidney Ede, Chairman of the Local Government personally supervised the operation which involved bulldozers and other heavy earth moving equipment with men of the Nigerian Army providing security.
Recall that following the resolve of the Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to end the perennial Monday Sit At Home in the State, soldiers had recently invaded the forest, neutralizing several hoodlums.

However, clearing of the forest is a welcome development since after several invasion by soldiers in the past, the miscreants always regrouped and went back to their hideout in the thick forest.
Political affairs analysts urge Local Government chairmen of the other Local Government areas in the State to emulate Hon Ede, who coincidentally is the State ALGON Chairman, by clearing all thick forests in their domains, as they mostly provide safe havens for criminal elements including Ekpa’s Killer Squad, Fulani bandits, kidnappers, etc.
