VIDEO: AKPABIO GOOFS ON LIVE TV, REVEALS “MONEY HAS BEEN SENT TO SENATORS ACCOUNTS TO ENJOY THEIR HOLIDAY” AS NIGERIANS SUFFERING INTENSIFIES
Abuja – Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, the President of the Nigerian Senate has committed what many consider as a major blunder Live on NTA.
In a viral video shown by NTA, Akpabio announced to fellow senators that something had been deposited into their accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly for them to enjoy themselves during the recess.
“In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly”.
However, in a bizarre twist of events, after a colleague quickly walked up to him and urged him to withdraw the scandalous statement, he made an even more comical statement.
He said, ” I withdraw that statement. In order, to allow you to enjoy your holiday, the Senate President has sent prayers to your mail boxes, has sent prayers to your mailboxes, to enable you to go safely and return”.
To so many, it was a more or less a Freudian slip, revealing his true nature. Recall that , Akpabio is still being probed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
