Debunking the Lies of Bishop Stephen Adegbite of Ikeja Methodist Diocese

On October 16, 2022, The Chairman of Lagos State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Methodist Bishop of Ikeja Rt. Reverend Stephen Adegbite stated during the presentation of the so called stewardship report of 12 years sojourn in Senate by the wife of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Senator Mrs. Pastor Oluremi Tinubu that, to quote him verbatim: “God will punish us if we don’t support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”  
He further stated: “Nobody can tell us not to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu because he has done more than enough to support the Body of Christ in the Southwest.” The Methodist Bishop went further to mention such contributions as Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s sponsorship of Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem with Lagos State money and the return of schools to their original Christian owners.
It should be recalled that on 31st May 2022, the same Bishop Stephen Adegbite stated in an interview recorded in a YouTube Channel that the Methodist Church of Nigeria paid a ransom of 100 million naira to the Muslim bandit kidnappers to release the Methodist Prelate of Nigeria His Eminence Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu-Uche in the company of the Methodist Bishop of Owerri Diocese Rt. Reverend Dennis Mark and the Prelate’s Chaplain Very Reverend Abidemi Jeremiah Shittu. 
Is it not therefore ridiculous and shameful that the same man should stand up to voice out his utter disgusting support for a Muslim Presidential candidate that has a fellow Muslim as his Vice Presidential candidate? 
As baby-Christians we were often intimidated with the biblical axiom “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.” This has remained the weapon frequently employed by many carnal pastors and men of God as Bishop Stephen Adegbite to intimidate their congregations into submission in the face of their reckless abuse of their spiritual vocations as anointed men of God.  I want to state without equivocation that this axiom is outdated and does not fit into the realms of the present political circumstances of the Nigerian nation. If you as God’s anointed decide by your reckless actions to de-anoint yourself then prepare to be touched. In the same vein if you as a Prophet of God decide to de-prophet thyself then be prepared for harm unto thyself by the people.
Bishop Adegbite lied by saying that Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tenure as the Governor of Lagos State was memorably profitable to the Christian population of Lagos State and Southwest Region. Why shouldn’t Bola Ahmed Tinubu use Lagos State money to sponsor Christian pilgrimages to Jerusalem the way he did for his fellow Muslims? Are Christians not more in population in Lagos State than his Muslim kinsmen? Are the resources of Lagos State not generated more by the Christians than Muslims? Are other Southern Governors whose States have even less than five percent Muslim population which constitute non-indigenes not using their State money to sponsor Muslim pilgrims to Mecca?
Bishop Adegbite either in his ignorance or his obvious despoiled and watered tongues pointed out the handing back of Christian Schools to their original Church owners as one of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s contributions to Christians in Lagos State. Was Lagos under Bola Ahmed Tinubu the only State that handed over missionary schools to their Church owners? Did the same Bola Ahmed Tinubu not hand over the similar schools to their Muslim Ansar ud Deen and Ahmadiyya original owners? 
If the handing over schools to their Church owners was a monumental achievement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Bishop Stephen Adegbite, what about the management of the remaining State-owned schools as well as the political appointments under Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola? How far did Christians in Lagos State manifest their rights and privileges as full citizens of Lagos State? Or God did not show the likes of Bishop Stephen Adegbite the heinous discrimination against the Christians of Lagos State under Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola? Let me prove to Bishop Stephen Adegbite that he is an inveterate liar.
It is on record that under Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola, except for a very few circumstances, one must be a Muslim to either be a Principal of Lagos State Government Secondary Schools or Chairman of Local Government Council. 
Available statistical evidence during the tenures of the two men shows that seventy-five percent (75%) of government-owned secondary school Principals in Lagos State were Muslims while Christians constitute a paltry twenty-five percent (25%); whereas the Christians made up about eighty percent (80%) of the entire graduate-teachers of the State’s Secondary School system. The only reason was that one must be a Muslim in other to be appointed a Secondary School Principal in Lagos State under Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola? 
Further statistical evidence under Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola shows that while only about five percent (5%) of the Chairmen (Executive Secretaries) of the fifty-seven (57) Local Government Development Areas were Christians, the Muslims constituted about ninety-five percent (95%)? If the above facts are false, I challenge both Bishop Adegbite and the present Lagos State Government still under a Bola Ahmed Tinubu protégé to present the contrary to the public, otherwise people like Bishop Stephen Adegbite without apologies should shut up their mouths.
The following  were the satanic-disparity between Christians and Muslims in the appointment of Chairmen (Executive Secretaries) of the 57 LCDA of Lagos State inherited from Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Raji Fashola:  Christians = 14; Muslims = 43. If this was the religious face of Lagos State Government under the Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola administrations, what then do we expect if Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the President of Nigeria? This question goes to Bishop Stephen Adegbite.

This pattern of religious discrimination extended right down to the appointment and posting of Primary School Headmasters and Headmistresses. It is important to note that it was Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s attempt to rebalance this imbalance that enraged his mentor Bola Ahmed Tinubu and subsequently cost him his second term.
It is therefore ridiculous that when the Nigerian Muslim leaders are busy gathering their flocks North and South to vote for their co-Muslim Presidential candidates as in the old, the Christian leaders like Bishop Stephen Adegbite are busy swimming in ignominious monetary inducements from their Muslim adversaries to betray their Christian Presidential candidate in the manner of Judas Iscariot.
