Abuja – The Hon. Minister of Works, Senator Engr David Nweze Umahi, FNATE, FNSE has appointed Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji as Chief Press Secretary.
The New CPS was a Former Commissioner for Information and State Orientation Ebonyi state Under His Excellency Engr David Nweze Umahi between 2019 – 2023, and Deputy Director, Tinubu/ Shetima Presidential Campaign Council Sub-Committee on CSO’s in 2023, he hold a Barrister at Law (BL) in 2004 at Nigerian Law School , Abuja and Abia State University, Uturu— LLB(Hons) In 2002.
Orji has established firm contacts with the print, electronic and online media practitioners and had built competencies in the area of media relations, corporate communication and reputation management and crisis management. He Served as a Chief Whip, Ebonyi State House of Assembly in 2007-2011, also worked as Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and job Creation Ebonyi State in 2017-2018, Focal Person, Federal Government Programmes on Human Capital Development 2020, Chairman, Ebonyi State Census Publicity Sub-Committee 2023, and also Director, Directorate of Information, Divine Mandate Campaign Council in 2023.
He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abakaliki Branch , Member, All Progressives Congress, Ebonyi State Chapter, Old Member, Common Wealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and Chieftaincy title,Okwuru Oha 1 of IshiaguUntil his appointment as the CPS to the Hon. Minister of Works Engr David UmahiOrji, 47, is married with 6 children, He hails from Amaedim Ngwogwo Community, Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
