VIDEO:SUNNY -WENIKE, PRESIDENT, OHANAEZE S’AFRICA INAUGURATES WESTERN CAPE CHAPTER, RECEIVES MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD



Comrade Douglas Sunny -Wenike, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo South Africa (ONSA) inaugurated the Western Cape chapter of the organization on Sunday, 19th November, 2023 at Maitland Hall, Cape Town, Western Cape Province, South Africa.
While delivering his speech at the occasion, the Ogbakiri, Emohua Rivers State born social crusader and Assistant Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Global congratulated the newly inaugurated executive committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Western Cape Chapter under the leadership of Chief Josiah Ileka (Ohika Nnewi), urging them to uphold the lofty goals and aspirations of the Apex Igbo socio-cultural Organization by being good ambassadors.
He also thanked the President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu for confirming South Africa as the headquarters of Ohanaeze Africa regional chapter and pledged loyalty and partnership with the worldwide body to achieve his very feasible pragmatic vision for Ndigbo.
Furthermore, Sunny -Wenike enjoined all Ndigbo in the province including those who lost out in the contest to rally round the new leadership so as to work together for the collective aspiration of all Ndigbo.
Lastly,he also used the medium to call on all those who were coronated with different chieftaincy titles to live up to expectations.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Josiah Ileka (Ohika Nnewi) expressed his utmost appreciation to Sunny -Wenike for the “fatherly and visionary leadership he has been providing for Ohanaeze Ndigbo South Africa, leading to the organization’s transformation”.
Equally, he pledged the unalloyed loyalty and support of his entire executive committee and members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Western Cape Province to the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo South Africa under Comrade Sunny -Wenike.
Other members of the newly inaugurated executive committee include; Mr Emmanuel Ogbonna Ogbuabo (Secretary General), Chief Anayo Udesike (Eze Nwachinaemere) (Treasurer), Chief Jerry Kalu(Financial Secretary), Chief Isienyi Emmanuel Chukwujekwu (Welfare Officer), Chief Chukwuka Sanganba Amaechi (Public Relations Officer) and Chief Ọnuma Devine (Organizing Secretary)
Another highlight of the event was the Ofala/Iriji Ndigbo, Western Cape Province presided over by HRH Igwe Emmanuel Umenwa Okolie (Igwe Ndigbo Western Cape) supported by other Royal Fathers such as HRH Igwe Godwin Okosisi Nwobi (Ugwundu II of Ugwuleshi Autonomous Community, Awgu, Enugu State), HRH Eze Charles (Ebo-Ogu II of Amuzu Nwenkwo Autonomous Community, Mbaise, Imo State), HRH Eze M.U.J. Emechebe (Eze Ndigbo South Africa) and Ezeali Ndubueze Jonas Udeji (Onowu Ndigbo South Africa)
The Supreme Eze in Council, Western Cape also presented a Meritorious Service Award on Sunny -Wenike “in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to peace, unity and prosperity of the Igbo/Nigerian community in Western Cape, South Africa”. The award bore the signatures of Igwe Emmanuel Umenwa Okolie (Igwe Ndigbo Western Cape Province)and Chief Charles Rapuluchukwu Ufochukwu (Owelle Ndigbo South Africa & Chairman, Supreme Eze in Council).
