SENATORS BARAU, BAMIDELE, HON ADEWALE JOIN AKPABIO TO HOST CHINESE DELEGATION AT THE NIGERIAN SENATE



Abuja – On Tuesday, 26th November 2024, the Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, hosted a delegation from the Standing Committee of National Peoples Congress (NPC) of China, led by their Vice Chairman, Mr Zhang Qingwei.
He was joined at the occasion by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jubril; Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele; Chairman Senate Appropriation Committee, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola CON and other senators.
Also, Hon Ayo Adewale, former Executive Chairman, Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos State was present to join the Senate President in welcoming the Chinese delegation.
During the event, the Senate President warmly received the top Chinese lawmaker and emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration between Nigeria and China in critical sectors such as trade, infrastructure, science and technology, education, agriculture, youth development, capacity building et al.
The Chinese delegation expressed their delight in visiting the Nigerian Senate. Mr. Zhang Qingwei shared that this was his first time visiting Nigeria and Africa during his over 40 years of public service. He assured the Senate of China’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with Nigeria for mutual growth and development.
