Awgu: Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu, Deputy Minority Leader, Federal House of Representatives on Friday continued with his Academic Empowerment Scheme by paying the WAEC fees of six hundred (600) indigent constituents.
In an occasion held at Rosary High School, Awgu, the member representing Awgu/Oji River /Aninri Federal Constituency urged the recipients to make good use of the opportunity by ensuring that they study hard so as to pass the exam in flying colors.
“Educational Empowerment is the biggest empowerment anyone can receive since education remains the key to a bright and prosperous future.
“I urge you all to make good use of this of this opportunity by ensuring that you study hard so as to pass the exam in flying colors. If you do so, the future will be bright”
While addressing those present, the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, CFR, PhD commended Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu for his genuine and untiring interest in the Educational Empowerment of his constituents (Old Awgu Division)
“Firstly, I must commend Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu, Iyierioba for his genuine and untiring interest in the Educational Empowerment of your constituents (Old Awgu Division). As I have always said,” Education is an equalizer”. The best route out of poverty and into greatness is education.
“Iyierioba is indeed a dependable ally, who has really impacted positively on the lives of Ndị Greater Awgu”
In his speech, Hon. Engr Okwu Chinedu, Member representing Aninri Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly thanked Rt. Hon Okechukwu for complimenting the good works of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Enugu state and His Excellency Prof. Sen. Ike Ekweremadu in the education sector.
Also, he charged the students to make sure that they all make good grades since that is the only way they can make Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu immensely proud.
.Finally, he thanked the organizers of the the event for they uprightness and Keen commitments to see to the success of this kind of epoch and life-impacting.
The 600 recipients comprised 10 students chosen from 60 public Secondary Schools, 20 schools from each of the 3 Local Governments in the Constituency namely; Awgu, Oji River and Aninri.
The cheques for the WAEC fees as well as running costs for the exam were presented to principals from the respective schools.
Dignitaries present include Hon Ugonna Ibeh, Hon Commissioner for Culture and Tourism who also represented His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor, Enugu State, Hon Uche Ogbonna, Commissioner for Labor and Productivity, Enugu State,, Hon Ezekiel Chukwu, Executive Chairman, Aninri LGA
