PROMISE FULFILLED: OJI RIVER STAKEHOLDERS, CITIZENS COMMEND OKECHUKWU, REPS DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER AS ACHI ROAD RECEIVES PROMPT ATTENTION
Enugu: Stakeholders and citizens of Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State are full of commendations for Rt Hon Toby Okechukwu, Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and Member representing Aninri /Awgu /Oji River Federal Consituency for promptly fulfilling his promised remedial intervention on erosion threatened portions of the Achi-Awgu road, within four days.
In their separate reactions, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, Ozo Ohamadike n’Achi, President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide and Hon Ejike Ilo, President General, Ehuhe-Achi Town Union commended the Federal lawmaker.
According to Okwu, “Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu has shown what it means to be a man of integrity.
“Achi people and the entire Oji River value him tremendously because his words are always backed with action”
In his own words, Ilo described Okechukwu as “a man who has shown love to Ndi Oji”. He stated that the people of the Local Government would always gladly show their appreciation.
Hon Ikemefuna Udeagbara, Councillor, Achi-Uno Ward 3 had this to say; “Rt Hon Toby Okechukwu is a bridge builder who has touched all the three Local Governments under his constituency with infrastructural constituency projects.
” My constituents, the good people of Achi-Uno Ward 3 where the ongoing road rehabilitation is taking place are very happy with him. He is the best House of Representatives member Greater Awgu has ever had. In fact, it will be hard to beat his sterling record”
Again, Mrs Ngozi Umeh, a Civil Servant from Inyi, Oji River Local Government Area who plies the road often had kind words for the amiable Federal lawmaker; “Iyierioba (Okechukwu’s traditional title) has done well. Am amazed at his prompt intervention which has saved this very important road, a Federal road that also links Enugu and Anambra State from being cut into two.
“It’s only God that shall reward him for making such a big difference in our lives. Before now, we never knew that a House of Reps member can do so much”
Recall that on Friday, the 18th of March, 2022 the Federal legislator, in response to an S. O. S. from eminent citizens from Oji River Local Government Area, had paid a fact finding visit to the endangered portions of the road.
After realizing the danger posed to the road itself as well as commuters by the erosion menace that was threatening to cut the road into two at the portion in front of Achi Joint Hospital and other endangered spots, Okechukwu, after assurances from Mr Samir, the Arab Contractors’ site engineer, promised a prompt intervention by doing some remedial work, despite the fact that the road was not part of their contract.
