The conference which attracted various Labour Party Stakeholders in the Geo- Political Zones, was held at Asaba, Delta State.

The conference has “Developing Grass Root Structure for Effective People Oriented Democracy”, as its theme.

In his welcome address, the Chairman, Conference Organizing Committee, Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji, MNSE stated that the conference was aimed at Strategizing on how best to mobilize voters for the Labour Party, LP, Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi at the grassroots and as well protection of the votes, to ensure that every vote counts.

He also stressed the need for synergy between the Labour Party, itself and various support groups, especially POSN, which he referred to as Peter Obi’s first son.

“POSN is a primus inter pares, first among equals, in so far as Peter Obi Support Groups are concerned, having being inaugurated by Mr Peter Obi, himself in April, when he was still in PDP.

“In fact, POSN is like Peter Obi’s first son and has been instrumental to the Obidient movement’s success story especially the Abuja and Jos Obidient Summits.

“There is however, need for synergy between the Labour Party itself and POSN, as well as other support groups. Labour Party is the vehicle, Peter Obi is the driver and POSN as well as other members of the Obidient movement are the passengers”

He also condemned the resort to hooliganism by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as evidenced by the disruption of the medical outreach organized by Diaspora Medics for Good Governance, DM4GG, the previous day at Ogbogonogo market, Asaba by thugs sent by the Chairman, Oshimili South LGA.

“I condemn the disruption of yesterday’s medical outreach by PDP thugs sent by the Chairman, Oshimili South LGA. We refuse to stampeded or discouraged, as we strive to liberate Nigeria from grasps of “enemies of the Nigerian masses”, politicians of the old order who gluttonous feed fat on our Commonwealth. Doomed is the nation whose thinkers are gluttons”
