Enugu– The Campaign Council of the Enugu State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said this at the report that its governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah, slumped at the headquarters National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Abuja, over the malicious claim that hat his NYSC discharge certificate was allegedly forged, describing it as “the height of hallucination by a rudderless and lazy opposition that want to ascend to power by subterfuge”.
The Campaign Council wondered why Mbah would slump over an apparent hatchet job by a purchased syndicate when the culprits actually ought to be cooling their feet in the custody of law enforcement agencies, singing about their mischief and sponsors.
The Campaign Council also wondered why Sahara Reporters would carry such “apparently concocted falsehood without seeking a reaction from either Dr. Mbah or the Campaign Council”.
A statement released on Thursday by the Director of Communications and Spokesperson of the Enugu PDP Campaign Council, Nana Ogbodo, stated: “We ordinarily wouldn’t dignify such slew of mischievous tales by the opposition, reassured in the knowledge that truth will ultimately prevail, but for the fact that silence might sometimes be misconstrued, no less so in an election season.
“But it is indeed ridiculous to claim that our governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah, slumped over a hatchet job by a purchased syndicate to smear and distract our governorship project, which has been overwhelmingly embraced by the people of Enugu State.
“For the umpteenth time, the indolent Enugu opposition should get serious with producing and presenting their manifestos to the people rather than dwelling on mischiefs and smear campaign because we will never be distracted.
“In the meantime, we reassure our supporters that there is nothing to worry about as Dr. Peter Mbah is taking every necessary step within the provisions of the law to ensure that everyone involved in this malicious project is brought to book”.
