PERPETRATORS OF EZEAGU POLICE STATION ATTACK MUST BE APPREHENDED – ENUGU STATE CP VOWS
The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, psc, has vowed to ensure that perpetrators of the attack on Iwollo Oghe Police station, Ezeagu LGA of the state, in the early hours of Tuesday were apprehended.
Aliyu stated this when he led members of his management team and Operational/Tactical Commanders to Iwollo Police Division for an on-the-spot assessment, following the attack on the Division by unknown gunmen at about 4am on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by ASP Daniel Ndukwe, Anipr, Police Public Relations Officer Enugu State Command: “The hoodlums, who came to the Station in their numbers, opened fire on Police Operatives on duty, but were gallantly resisted and in the ensuing gun duel, several of the assailants escaped with bullet injuries
Ndukwe also said that the command lost four of their men as a result of injuries they sustained and part of the station torched by the gunmen and the commissioner while commiserating with families of the dead officers ordered for discreet investigation to arrest the culprits.
