Enugu: Former Enugu State Commissioner for Rural Development, Ozo Gab Onuzulike, has reportedly been assassinated, Late in the afternoon on Friday, alongside his elder brother, Elvis, in front of his family compound at Nkpokolo-Achi, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Onuzulike, a prominent Enugu politician, was a one time Chairman of Oji River Local Government Area and a House of Representatives aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, earlier this year.
Both men met their untimely death while returning from a burial ceremony in the area.
A source, however, said a team of security men gave the gunmen a hot chase, killed one of them, and arrested another member of the gang.
Police in Enugu State is yet to make an official statement on the incident.
Efforts to reach the state Command’s spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful as he did not answer his calls as the phone rang out.
