NIGERIA: ITS EITHER NEW CONSTITUTION OR BREAK UP- VICTOR ATTAH

Abuja: A former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Obong Victor Attah has stated that based on current political realities in the country, it was either Nigeria returns to the 1960 Independence Constitution or it breaks up.
Obong Attah made this assertion, thus morning while speaking as a guest on Kakaaki, a current affairs program on AIT.
“Nigeria has to return to the 1960 Independence Constitution, which was a product of the Pre-Independence dialogue between the various peoples of Nigeria, if this country will survive.
On whether those already used to the current quasi federalism and are benefitting from it would allow the system to be changed, Attah said, “Its like someone who has been used to sin saying that repentance is not possible, that would continue in their sin and go to hellfire. Its either we return Nigeria to the initial system that worked or its hell Fire”.
The former State Governor stated that there was currently “only one tier of Government in Nigeria, the Federal Government. The two other tiers are vassals of the Federal Government”
