MASSIVE ELECTORAL FRAUD ALLEGEDLY MAR PDP HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PRIMARIES IN OSISIOMA NGWA LGA, ABIA STATE

Aba:The House of Assembly primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osisioma LGA, Abia State has been allegedly marred by massive irregularities.

In a letter addressed to the Abia State PDP Chairman, A.N Onuoha, Esq. and Chukwuma Obianwu, Esq., solicitors to Hon. Ukachi C. Amala; Hon. Justice Chinonso Ujoumunna; Sir Chidi Nnabugwu; Hon. Ngwankwe George Onyekanma and Hon. Uchenna Jumbo, who were all contestants in the primaries alleged that the said primary was “a rape of democracy”

The letter reads:

“23rd May, 2022

Sir,
RE-MASSIVE ELECTORAL IRREGULARITIES THAT MARRED THE PRIMARY ELECTION INTO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE IN OSISIOMA NGWA NORTH CONSTITUENCY IN OSISIOMA NGWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF ABIA STATE- A COMPLAINT.
We write as solicitors to the following candidates who contested the primaries of Osisioma Ngwa North State House of Assembly and they are as follows;
Hon. Ukachi C. Amala; Hon. Justice Chinonso Ujoumunna; Sir Chidi Nnabugwu; Hon. Ngwankwe George Onyekanma and Hon. Uchenna Jumbo all of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State and it is on their behalves and instructions that we write you as follows:-
That primary election of the People’s Democratic Party Abia State Chapter held or was suppose to hold in some of the Local Government Areas in Abia State including Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area on the 22nd day of May, 2022
That when our clients turned up for the exercise they received the rude shock of their lives, what happened on the 22nd day of May, 2022 was the best way not to practice Democracy (Primary Election) this rape on Democracy manifested in some of these ways;
The list of the delegates was compiled by one man i.e. Rt. Hon. Kennedy Azubuike Njoku the incumbent house of Assembly member representing Osisioma Ngwa North. This is contrary to the electoral guideline of the Party (PDP).

The said list comprised of the governor’s Aides which included Prince Onyenso, Joseph Agu, Blessing Ahaiwe, Nwagbara Rowland, Kennedy Orji and Grant Anyaumunna, these people made the list which is in sheer contravention of the electoral Act.
It was the said Rt. Hon. Kennedy Azubuike Njoku that brought the Electoral Officers and materials in his own car, in an election which he is contesting while the local government party chairman was nowhere to be found.
That all the security personnel and even thugs were arranged and brought by the said Rt. Hon. Kennedy Azubuike Njoku, they were at his beck and call, he decided who should come in and who should not. INFACT HE WAS THE ONE CALLING THE SHOTS.
There was so much threat on the lives of our clients at the venue of the election.
That at the said election, thirteen delegates were accredited but they eventually turned out fifteen votes and one wonders where the other three votes were coming from.
We hereby attach some documents to prove our case.
From the foregoing sir, it is beyond every reasonable doubt that there was travesty of justice on the said date and the same exercise. A party that does not have internal democracy cannot give democracy to Abia citizens and indeed Nigerians as no one gives what he does not have.
Our clients have unalloyed love for their party PDP and want to strengthen it by insisting that the right thing is done. They don’t want to leave the party neither do they want to do anything that will undermine the fortunes of the party or portray the party in bad light in this coming election hence this complaint.
They insist that they must exhaust the internal mechanisms of the party towards resolving disputes before they can complain higher.
In the circumstances sir, we urge you to use your good offices to cause an investigation into this imbalance with the aim of redressing it because to allow it to fester will cause incalculable damage to your party. We demand the councellation of the charade of the 22nd day of May, 2022 and order a fresh primary election. This complaint is serve as pre-action notice. Remember People’s Democratic Party is not the only party and Nigerians are watching.
