In the said viral video, a voice was heard from the background, expressing concern that a state like Kogi could not have functional fire fighting equipment in the state capital to handle such a serious emergency.
It could be observed from the video that the entire ground floor of the complex was damaged while offices on the top floor were also affected. The Advocate gathered that the fire incident started at about 8 am.
The Speaker of the House, Prince Mathew Kolawole, who rushed to the scene after the complex was completely razed, told journalists that the House will allow security agencies to investigate the incident. He, however, said this would not stop the assembly from performing its duty as the resolution of the House concerning Dangote Cement Plc stands.
