The IIndigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have canceled their earlier scheduled one week sit at home after other Biafran groups rallied against it, asking Ndigbo to discountenance it.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Emma Powerful, IPOB Media & Publicity Secretary, the group said,

“Following the genuine  intervention of our elders, esteemed traditional Institutions /Rulers and Religious Leaders, and after a due consideration of the positive impacts of their engagement, and sequel to the fact that  Our elders have spoken in our terms , the Leadership of IPOB ably lead by MAZI NNAMDI Kanu hereby and immediately CALL OFF THE ONE WEEK SIT AT HOME earlier declared to commence tomorrow, November 5 to November 10, 2021.

Recall that other Biafran groups have at different fora rallied against the said one week sit at home.

Earlier today, a communique released after a Joint Meeting of Pro-Biafran Groups at Awka, Anambra State on the forthcoming Anambra Election stated that “from all empirical evidence, continued Sit-At-Home, whether ordered by IPOB or not, has to stop since it is only increasing the hardship of long suffering Biafrans, in line with the position of revered Igbo elders, particularly the Council of South East Traditional Rulers and Council of Igbo Archbishops/Bishops.”

The communique was signed by Dr. Law Mefor, Customary Government of Biafra, Nwaada Eberechukwu Anigbogu, De Facto Biafran Government, Bar P. N. Okoro, Bilie Human Rights, Comrade Zulu Ofoelue, Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN)

Others include Chukwuebuka Ikenwa (High Tension), Biafran United Liberation Council (BULCO), Comrade Osita Chukwuagbanarinam, Salvation People (SP) Biafra, Comrade Clinton Umeh, De Mobilizers Initiative, DMI and Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji, MNSE, New Narrative

Also, some days ago, the Customary Government of Biafra (CGB) and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) had both issued separate statements, insisting that the Anambra election must hold.
