Owerri – A traditional ruler is currently under police custody for his comments in the social media concerning the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma HRH Eze Ekene Obinali, Okorowuikemba of Umucheke in Umuobom clan, Ideato South LGA has made a publication in Ideato Voice Watsap Platform with the title “GOV HOPE UZODINMA IN A FRESH SCANDAL”.
The publication which opens up the sharp practises of Gulak-APC primary elections of 2018, was seen as very dangerous for a governor who is preparing for a second term in office. The publication was made on 28th Monday March 2023. HRH Eze Ekene Obinali, Okorowuikemba of Umucheke in Umuobom clan, Ideato South LGA.
The publication, according to sources, attracted the attention of very top state functionaries and the security agencies in the state. Unconfirmed reports, has it that the Royal Father, may be having the support of the opposition parties in the state and must have been induced to make a publication that puts the governor in a bad colour. “There is an instruction to keep the embittered Royal father behind the counter pending proper investigations on the reasons for his publication,” a member of the community told AbaCityBlog correspondent.
The member of the community who preferred to remain anonymous, recalled that the same traditional ruler has been involved in murder cases, embezzlement of his community funds, series of court cases against government officials including the Current Area Commander of Ideato and the Commissioner of Police, Imo State.
