IGWE GBAGAA’S COLUMN “ALUTA GOSPEL” DEBUTS ON HOOHAA TOMORROW
Today, we present to you a brand new column captioned “ALUTA GOSPEL” being scripted by none other than Comrade Patrick Afubera aka “Igwe Gbagaa”, a veteran students activist/youth leader, who though in his late 40s is still high alutarized.
ALUTA GOSPEL is his attempt at providing a direction to the younger generation whose idea of “the struggle” revolves wholly around money.

Comrade Patrick Afubera is an Alumnus of the great Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He holds a Bachelors degree in Applied Biochemistry from that prestigious institution, and had commenced a second “missionary journey” for another degree in the faculty of Law of that great University. He has valuable exposure through several seminars, workshops and courses.
He was born in his Ogbakuba, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State on December 17th 1976, and raised in that community, having his primary and junior secondary education there, before proceeding to St. Charles Special Science School, Onitsha for his senior secondary education that eventually broadened his horizon and focus.
He is the surviving eldest son of Late High Chief Paul N. Afubera (Isagba Ajie of Amiyi) and Late Mrs. Catherine Adaeze Afubera (Ntuoyi), following the passing of his elder brother, Godwin Afubera, in 2014. A very humble, bold, courageous and principled personality with very high affinity for integrity and strong Christian virtues, he is passionate and focused about his convictions based on what is right, just, truthful, equality and social justice.
His service to humanity as a student and youth leader has seen him holding such positions of leadership as President of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Students’ Union, National Mobilization Officer of NANS, Pioneer Chairman of the Joint Campus Committee (JCC) of NANS, Anambra State, Chairman of NANS Zone B Steering/Caretaker Committee, factional President of NANS, Pioneer Speaker of Youth Parliament of Anambra State, while his service to fatherland and the larger society has seen him work as an Appointee of the Presidency in the capacity of Zonal Coordinator of the SURE-P’s Community Services, Women & Youth Employment scheme and later as Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. He is currently the Chairman of the Council of Past Presidents of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Students’ Union. He is popularly known across the nation’s youth and students’ constituency as IGWE GBAGAA.
He has also ventured into the Political arena by offering himself on two occasions to serve his people of Ogbaru Constituency II in the Anambra State House of Assembly. Although he has not been successful in that venture, but such endeavors had helped in earning him the recognitions for the appointments by the Presidency and the office of the Speaker. He has also served as State Youth Leader of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State and Director of Youths in the 2017 Governorship Campaign Committee. He is a three-time Delegate to the State Congress for Governorship Primary election. He is currently a card-carrying member of the ruling party in Anambra State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Patrick is married to Barr. Jessica Akabike-Afubera, and they are blessed with two adorable children, Bryan and Joan. His hobbies include swimming, snooker, writing and reading.
