Abuja – The Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on Tuesday, 11th July 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.
The essence of the visit was to congratulate Rear Admiral Ogalla on his recent appointment and discuss matters of mutual interest concerning Enugu State and the Nigerian Navy.
Rear Admiral Ogalla, a native of Enugu Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, was appointed as the Chief of the Naval Staff by President Bola Tinubu on 19th June 2023. His appointment marks a significant achievement for the South-East region of Nigeria, as he is the second naval chief to hail from that part of the country.
During the meeting, Governor Peter Mbah commended Rear Admiral Ogalla for his dedication to service to the nation. He expressed his delight in having an Enugu State indigene occupying such a prestigious position in the Nigerian Navy. The governor also discussed the importance of cooperation between Enugu State and the Nigerian Navy in maintaining security and promoting economic growth in the region.
