GOV OTTI APPROVES N70,000 MINIMUM WAGE FOR ABIA WORKERS
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has authorized a minimum wage of N70,000 for workers, effective at the end of October.
This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing in Umuahia, emphasizing the Governor’s commitment to supporting workers.
Kanu stated that payments will begin in the coming days and will encompass all categories of workers. He remarked, “The Governor has approved that payment of the minimum wage will commence in the next few days.”
This decision aligns with Governor Otti’s pledge to enhance the justice system, which includes plans to build 17 court halls across the local government areas of Abia.
