Lagos: The Labour Party, LP, Governorship candidate in Lagos State l, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour, GRV has condemned the attack on one of the Obidient supporters, known as Obi Flag boy by thugs “empowered by the state during the Lagos October 1st Obidients 4 Million Man March.
A press release signed personally by GRV reads:
“The violent attack on Obi Flag boy by thugs empowered by the state is regrettable and condemnable. However, freedom of expression and right to democratic choice is inalienable and universal. I’m therefore appalled by the antagonism, vindictiveness, and brazen attack on persons who have willingly exercised their rights to identify with the Obidient movement.
“This violent and rascality, often escalated during elections, must be immediately curbed. I also urge the Lagos State Police Command to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book. No citizen in a democratic society should be bullied or attacked because of their choice. No citizen should experience violence atrallies or polling stations.
Hence, I have put my lawyers on notice, briefed them to leave no stone in ensuring that both criminal and civil aspects of the law is explored towards ensuring justice for this brave, young and patriotic Nigerian.
Live and let live.
I enjoin every Obidient in Lagos to remain resolute and committed to the cause – for we shall prevail. Undoubtedly, Lagos is Obidient and we shall deliver a city that places the interest of the collective above a corrupt and kleptocratic political elite.”
The entrance of GRV into the Lagos Governorship race has really electrified the campaign due to his vivacious activism and very intimidating academic and professional resume
