FOLLOWING FR MBAKA, OTHERS’ CRITICISMS, ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT CALLS FOR MEETING WITH BANNED KEKE, OKADA, TIPPER UNIONS

Enugu: The Enugu State Government has invited the state leaderships of Association of Tricycle Riders Transport Union (ATRTU), Tipper Union and the Nkanu East and Nkanu West Local Government Area branches of Motorcycle Transport Union to a security meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
A statement signed on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Steve Oruruo, disclosed that the meeting will hold at the Government House, Enugu, at 2:45pm.
The statement stressed that “All invitees to this meeting are expected to be seated by 2:45pm on Tuesday, the 1st of March, 2022 at the Government House, Enugu.

This is sequel to the criticism of the ban by several well meaning groups and individuals, the latest being the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.
In his sermon on Friday night at the Adoration Ministry Crusade Ground shown in a viral video, the Charismatic cleric claimed the State Government took the decision without thinking of the consequences of the ban and its effect on the poor.
He questioned the rationale behind banning Okada and keke, means of transportation by the poor whereas “those people killing policemen use SUVs, at times Hilux, at times Mercedes”
Speaking further, the visibly enraged priest continued;
“The masses should not continue to suffer and suffer and suffer. I’m pleading with the leadership of Enugu State, am available for them. If they make any laws without consulting me, let them not expect that I will consult them before making any statement”
