Enugu: The Chief Fire Officer, Enugu State Fire Service, Engr Okwudiri Daniel Ohaa, FNSE has stated that the state’s Fire fighters deserve the support of citizens and residents of the state in order to succeed.

Engr Ohaa noted that in his adresss during an occassion to mark this year’s International Fire Fighters Day (IFFD) held at Ogui Road Fire Station, Enugu on Tuesday.

Recall that May 4 every year is commemorated as International Fire Fighters Day.

According to him, ” On this date (International Fire Fighters Day), people are invited to remember the past Fire Fighters who have died while serving their community or who dedicated their lives to ensuring the safety of all of us”

He obseved that the IFFD was “a special time to stop and reflect on the sacrifices made by Fire Fighters” in order to keep everyone safe and protected from Fire incidents.

Continuing, Engr Ohaa said Enugu State Fire Fighters deserve the support of citizens and residents to succeed, “We need your accurate and timely information to trace and respond to rescue operations or Fire outbreaks promptly”

He also urged Ndị Enugu to support Fire Fighters by, “always giving way to Fire fighting trucks and vehicles attending to rescue or Fire related emergencies and by installing suitable and functional Fire extinguishers in their homes and offices”

On his part, Chief Gab Ejim, a Senior citizen and an Enugu resident urged Ndị Enugu to support the Enugu State Fire Service to succeed, “The present Enugu State Fire Service deserve our support based on their exceptional service delivery”
