ENUGU, A TOTAL GHOST TOWN AS TODAY’S SIT AT HOME WITNESSES TOTAL COMPLIANCE AFTER LAST MONDAY’S SHOOTING

Enugu: Enugu, the Coal City state and political capital of the Igbo nation is today, totally in a “Ghost mode” as a result of almost 100% compliance with the controversial weekly Monday SIt at Home that had persisted in the South-East despite being allegedly canceled by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) which had announced same.

Today’s deserted streets in Enugu are as a result of the shootings and mayhem witnessed last Monday when gunmen terrorized different parts of the metropolis and even suburbs.

The State Police Command was later to issue a statement that the situation had been brought under control. Military helicopters patrolled the skies all through the day.

However, nobody wanted to take any chances with unknown merchants of death hence virtually everyone stayed off the streets

Popular roads in the city such as Chime Avenue, New Haven, Ogui road and Agbani road were all virtually devoid of human and vehicular traffic .
