ENUGU 2023: EDEOGA, LP CANDIDATE’S GUBER BID BOOSTED BY NEW HAVEN CATHOLIC PARISH’S ENDORSEMENT

Enugu: The Governorship bid of Hon. Chijoke Jonathan Edeoga, CJE, the Labour Party, LP candidate in next year’s gubernatorial election in Enugu State received a boost this morning with his endorsement by parishioners at St. Dominic’s Catholic Parish, New Haven Extension, Enugu.

St. Dominic Catholic Parish New Haven Extension this holy Sunday of the Lord and in commemoration of Virgin Mary’s birthday, endorsed Hon. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga for the governorship seat of Enugu State in 2023.

The resident Priest, Rev. Father Evans Ofor, while introducing the LP gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State, Hon. Edeoga said that members of his Parish are Obidiently Edeoga-Nized. He said that his Parish have unanimously agreed for Edeoga’s choice because in their investigations of all the candidates, he stands out just like the way Peter Obi stood out amongst all the Presidential candidates running, hence his Parish has invited him to celebrate with them in the commemoration of Virgin Mary’s birthday.

According to Fr. Offor, former Director of Communications, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, the Parish decided to leverage on the opportunity to endorse him.

“Members of this Parish are obidiently Edeoga-Nized. We have unanimously agreed on you, Edeoga, as our choice because from our investigations of all the candidates, you stand out just like Peter Obi stood out amongst all the Presidential candidates running, hence my Parish has invited you to celebrate with us in commemoration of Virgin Mary’s birthday.

“We also decided to leverage on this opportunity to endorse you. Hon. Edeoga is hereby endorsed by St. Dominic Catholic Parish, New Haven Extension as our adopted governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit”

The congregation chorused a loud “Amen!” in unison.

The Parish also used the opportunity to confer on the LP guber candidate a Medal of honor as the Parish life “PATRON” and to his lovely wife, Mrs Nkechi Edeoga, the life “PILLAR” of the Parish.

At this point, Hon. Edeoga was invited by the priest to come forward and cut the birthday cake of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Hon. accompanied by his beautiful wife and other elders of the Parish stepped forward and the ritual was performed at the spelling of the name Mary.

In his remarks, Hon. Edeoga thanked God Almighty for his grace and mercies to be alive and kicking in health. He also appreciated the resident Priest, Father Evans, for giving him the platform to be part of Mother Mary’s birthday today and using the wonderful platform to receive multiple blessings of endorsement and the honor of being a life Patron and his wife the life Pillar to the Parish all to the glory of God.

He thanked his wife for not only joining him to the Church but who has always been there for his rise in public service over the years. He thanked members of the choir for their creativity in singing beautiful and alluring songs to the glory of God.

He told them that he joined the guber race in Enugu State is to make an appreciable impact in leadership, administration and in governance of Enugu State because he possessed the requisite knowledge and experience to lead the people of Enugu State to the promised land of security, development and prosperity.

He concluded by telling them that he is not a corrupt politician
and will never be one, even as Governor of Enugu State, come next year God’s willing, and assuring the Parish of serving Enugu people with sincerity of purpose and with the fear of God.
