EBUBEAGU WILL SUCCEED IF… IKPEAZU

Umuahia: The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has stated that Ebube Agu, the regional security network being set up by Governors of the South East region has to be backed by the necessary legal framework if it must successfully function without any impediments.
Governor Ikpeazu made this known while featuring in a live TV Programme on Arise TV l week.
He said that the Houses of Assembly in the region were already “doing the needful” to give the security outfit a legal backing.
“The state assemblies of the five southeastern states are doing the needful, those that haven’t done are doing the needful and we don’t expect any legal framework to be an impediment.
“Our fight to secure our place has become existential and in that regard every other thing is second. We’ll advance whatever is necessary to ensure that we protect lives and properties in the southeast.
“Nobody will expect us to tie our hands, we’ll not allow that to happen here that will give a semblance of a scenario where people will be allowed to resort to self-help or non-state actors will take the front burner.
The South East Governors recent announcement of the formation of Ebubeagu, the long awaited Regional Security outfit has generated mixed reactions and controversies without IPOB claiming that it (Ebubeagu) is being formed to eliminate ESN operatives.
