Exactly 78 years ago, an Igbo icon, Comrade Delly Ajufo was born in Jos, Plateau to the family of Chief Francis and Mrs Mary Ajufo from Umuehea, Igbuzo, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State.

Educated at Ealing College, London and Kinsgston University, Sudbury on Thames London with a post graduate degree in Manufacturing Technology, he is currently a consultant on Risk analysis and insurance.

Comrade has been at the vanguard of Igbo Nationalism and is a major stakeholder in the affairs of the Anioma nation. He is the Global Leader and founder, Anioma Redemption Group(ARG).

He is also a member of several other Igbo organizations including Nzuko Umunna, Global Igbo Leaders (HIL), Anya Ndígbo, etc.

Politically, he has always been progressive and a voice for social re-engineering and societal advancement. He was a founding member of Liberal convention, a foremost political movement annulled by then Nigerian military ruler, Gen Ibrahim Babangida.

Delly is married to Iranmiran Ajufo (Née Giwa-Osagie from the Oloye royal family in Benin city and the union is blessed with several children.

Expectedly, he teamed up with fellow progressive Nigerians to energize the 2023 Presidential Campaign of the Labour Party, LP candidate, Mr Peter Obi and is a pillar of the Labour Party LP and the Obidient Movement. He was a member of the Peter Obi Presidential campaign council and as well The Big Tent.



He is a current affairs analyst and
currently Chairman, Association of Professional Practicing Insurance Brokers of Nigeria.

In appreciation to God Almighty, Delly had this to say:”Lord, as it has pleased you to add another year to my age, I remain eternally grateful to bat at the 78th wicket and still standing.


Lord, I offer the serenity prayer that you grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the ones I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
I do not take your love and Grace upon me for granted. Thank you Lord”

As he climbs closer to the 8th floor, while looking as young as 60 years old, we join all men of goodwill in wishing many more happy returns.

“Diokpa, gaa n’ishu, ka Okuke Abịama, Chi Ndígbo chekwebe yi. Iseeeeeee!”
