DECLARE YOUR ASSET PUBLICLY TO SET YOURSELF APART FROM ROUTINE GOVERNORS – DR SAM AMADI URGES SOLUDO
Abuja: Dr Sam Amadi Soludo, Esq, an associate professor of Law at Baze University, Abuja has urged the Anambra State Governor Elect, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR to set himself apart from routine Governors by publicly declaring his assets.
Amadi, who is coincidentally a member of Soludo’s 80 Man Transition Committee made the statement in a comment on his Twitter handle .
“As Soludo plans a transformative government, he should follow Yaradua’s example and publicly declare his assets. That will set him apart from the routine Governors we have had. Anything less than that is a non-starter.
Other forms of symbolism will be of low impact, including asking commissioners to apply and sit for examinations.”
Interestingly, apart from Yaradua, the only Nigerian political office holder who boldly declared his assets publicly in recent times is Engr Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor.
Even President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo both reneged on their Electoral campaign promise of publicly declaring their assets.
