CONFUSION AS CHIMAROKE/TINUBU/ AWOLOWO POSTERS WITHOUT PARTY LOGOS FLOOD ENUGU

Enugu– Residents of Enugu, the Coal city and former capital of the then Eastern region of Nigeria are confused as campaign posters of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, Senator Bola Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the late Yoruba leader flooded various parts of the city, especially Okpara Square and it’s environs.

Interestingly, the poster was captioned “The Three Wise Men” and bore neither the party logo of the APC, Tinubu’s party nor that of PDP, from which Nnamani, a former Governor of Enugu State had recently been expelled from.

Some political pundits interprete it as Nnamani’s way of trying to “swim and sink” with Tinubu, his preferred presidential candidate for whose sake the PDP expelled him for anti-party activities.

According to them, he intends solidifying his base in the Tinubu camp, in the face of his expulsion which has rendered him “party less”.

Already, Chief Barr Victor Oyibo Chukwu, the Senatorial candidate of the Labour Party, LP in Enugu East zone has gone to court to get Nnamani disqualified from the race, in view of the fact that “only parties can sponsor candidates for elections in Nigeria, as the electoral act has no room for independent candidature”
