CHIGBO OBEALOR, SEASONED ELECTRICAL ENGINEER AND CONSULTANT EMERGES CHAIRMAN, NSE, ENUGU BRANCH


Enugu: Engr Chigbo Obealor, MNSE has emerged as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Enugu Branch.
Obealor, a seasoned Electrical Engineer and consultant was elected at the association’s Annual General Meeting held on Thursday, 25th August, 2022 at Destiny Event Centre, New Haven /Nza Street Byepass, Independence Layout, Enugu.


Other members of executive elected to serve with him include; Engr. Donatus Udeh, MNSE – Vice CHAIRMAN, Engr. Nneka Nwagugu, MNSE – Secretary, Engr. Loveday Osondu, MNSE- Asst. Secretary Engr. Enemchukwu Joel, MNSE- Treasurer, Engr. Onyeka R., MNSE- Financial Secretary, Engr. Nnodi Linda,MNSE – Technical Secretary, Engr. Anyanwu Clara, MNSE – Assistant Technical Secretary, Engr Chiwetelu Ndubuisi C.,MNSE – Publicity Secretary and Engr Osita Ezenwaka, FNSE- Ex-Officio
In his acceptance speech, Engr Obealor commended the Branch 2022 Electoral committee chaired by Engr Steve Uzoechina, with Engr Emeka Arukwue, Engr Ochi, Engr Ngozi Eli, Ph.D, as members for their conduct of a credible and rancour free election.
Born 12th November, 1967, Obealor, an indigene of Nibo in Awka South LGA of Anambra State was the second son and the third engineer in the Obealor dynasty of the seasoned patriarch, Engineer Engr. Cyril C. Obealor.
As a growing up child, with visions and gifting in call to service in line with 1peter4vs10, his mother would fondly call him master engineer, because of his determination to take up challenges in domestic engineering of scattering radios and other appliances with the intention of making it work better in line with the vision of ‘Relentless pursuit of perfection in engineering’ The parental encouragement was there even though most appliances ended up resting in peace.
Today, he is the principal consultant of Niborn Consults –Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Consultancy firm with the proactive zeal to stand this ever-challenging world of engineering; this has given rise to some notable achievements in the field of Engineering.
They include; National Industrial Court Complexes at Enugu, Calabar, Akure, Markurdi, Yola, Sokoto, Kaduna and Owerri, Imo State, Enugu State Government House (Lion Building) Enugu, Enugu State, Ebonyi State Government Secretariat Complexes, Ochudo City, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Street Lighting Projects at various towns and cities in Anambra State, Enugu State University of Science & Technology Ebeano City, Agbani, Enugu State
Obealor, as a committed member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers has contributed immensely to the advancement of engineering practice and societal well being.
Noteworthy was his chairing of the Sub-committee on PLANNED PHASE OUT OF STAND ALONE PREPAID METRE BY EEDC. His eloquent presentation and mastery of the subject matter based on decades of experience, both in Nigeria and overseas held the EEDC management board, including expatriates spell bound.
Consequently, his committee’s intervention stopped the planned Phase out of Stand Alone Meters in the entire South East by EEDC in 2020.
He is also a community leader with uncommon passion for the discovery of the latent potentials in the youth; developing and deploying it for greater works.
He is happily married to Mrs. Ogochukwu Obealor (MPH) and is blessed with divine children- Ifunayachukwu, Zukoifechukwu, Ezenwa and Chukwuemelie.
