BREAKING! IMPASSE LOOMS AS OBI WINS FCT WITH APC, PDP NOT GETTING 25% CONSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENT

Abuja – A Constitutional impasse looms in Nigeria with the Labour Party, LP, Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi won the election in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT whereas the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP failed to meet the constitutional requirement of 25% of votes cast in the FCT.

LP’s Obi polled 62% (281,987)

APC’ Tinubu 20% (90,902)

PDP’s Atiku 16% (73,743)

From the foregoing, even if either Alhaji Bola Tinubu of the APC or Alh Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, having failed to secure the stipulated requirement of winning 25% of votes cast in the FCT, none of them can be validly declared as president.
