AYU REFUSED TO STEP DOWN BECAUSE THEY KNOW ATIKU WONT WIN – KATCH ONONUJU, PETER OBI’S SA, PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Abuja: The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Dr Iyorchia Ayu has refused to step down because they (he and his backers) know that their party will not win the 2023 Presidential election.

This assertion was made by Dr Katch Ononuju, the newly appointed Special Adviser, Public Affairs to Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, while speaking as a guest on Sunrise Daily, Channels Television’s programme this Monday morning.

“Ayu refused to step down because they know that they won’t win the presidential election. If not, they would have gotten him to step down because he would have been returned to office, once Atiku (the party’s presidential candidate) wins.

Dr Ononuju, a vocal public affairs analyst seized the opportunity to announce his resignation from the PDP, after twenty three years of active service and his joining of the Labour Party, LP.

According to him, “With the exit of Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, from the PDP, the soul of the party is gone. Olisa Metuh, the Party’s former National Publicity Secretary said that an important aspect of the party left when Peter Obi left the party.

“With Obi’s exit, you only have the dinosaurs left behind in the PDP. The youths constitute 72% of Nigeria’s voting population and they are the ones leading the organic movement of which Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party is its face.

“I have children at home; in their interest and in the interest of our country’s future, I have joined the youths instead of the dinosaurs to liberate Nigeria”
