ATTACKS ON POLICE BY CRIMINALS IN THE S/EAST LEADS TO “PERSECUTION” OF IPOB BY THE NIGERIAN POLICE – UMAHI

Abuja: His Excellency Engr Dave Umahi, Governor Ebonyi State and Chairman, South East Governors Forum has stated that those “attacking police station and killing police officers in the South East are criminals, not ESN members, now leading to the “persecution” of IPOB by the Nigerian Police”

While speaking this morning on Sunrise Daily, a current Affairs programme on Channels TV, Umahi explained that “there are bandits and criminal elements in all parts of the country; criminals in the State East now commit Crimes which is blamed on IPOB /ESN which have stated that they have no hands in such attacks”

Governor Umahi also explained that Ebubeagu shall function as “State Police” and shall bear arms and have powers of arrest, in that capacity.
