Johannesburg, South Africa: On Sunday, 3rd November, 2019, Ezeali Ndubueze Jonas Udeji Onowu Ndigbo, South Africa shall be a recipient of the Influential Men of the Year, JHB 2019 Award.
The ceremony slated to hold at the iconic South African events Centre, Gold Reef City, Johannesburg is an Annual event aimed at honouring men of excellence in the South African society.
It comes as a surprise that South Africans shall be honouring a Nigerian, in this era of xenophobia and virulent Anti-Nigerian sentiments.
According to Pinky Mothi, the South African doyen of Afro-fusion music and founder of Big M Productions, organizers of the event, “it is meant to celebrate excellence in South Africa and promote African unity, regardless of race or skin colours”.
In an interview with hoo!haa!! she expressed her dream of performing in Nigeria.

Firstly, from the testament of this trailblazer, born 46 years ago to the aristocratic family of Mazị Udeji Nwobodo of Amegu, Umulevo, Emudo – Nenwe, it was in appreciation of his decades of unblemished community service in South Africa.
“Over the years, I have been busy with community service ranging from campaigns against crimes, Supporting abandoned children, Raising funds for the Cathedral of Christ The King, Johannesburg since 2004 till 2017.
” As a Social Cohesion and Cultural Unity Advocate, I have been visiting and speaking with different Communities; Political leaders, some State institutions and non state actors, visiting different South African Kings and facilitating cultural relations with their counterparts in other countries. Furthermore, I have been mentoring many African Youths through the Independent Pan African Youths Parliament”
Other recipients include business mogul, Karthi Moothsamy, President, South African Tamil Federation (SATF) and a prominent leader of the country’s Indian community, Sammy Naidoo, an octogenarian and a legendary school principal who revolutionalized school Sports in South Africa, especially athletics through his ingenuity and initiative and Sayed Mia, an International board room guru and CEO, Reviv Global Ltd, a modern wellness spa.
Udeji, the only non South African among those billed as recipients of the 38th edition of the prestigious award was nominated for the people who have worked with him in various fronts in the course of his nearly two decades of examplary philantropy and community service in the Rainbow Nation.
