Enugu: Engr. Abel Uchenna Nwobodo, the preferred candidate of Nkanu East Local Government Area Stakeholders for Commissioner from the Council has rejected his nomination.
The former Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Development & Implementation (PDI) however said his rejection of the nomination was on a personal note.
However, information from an insider indicates that Hon. Peace Nnaji, who has severally been a member of the House of Representatives and as well commissioner for Gender Affairs and Social Development under different administrations in the state has been picked as his replacement.
This incident has not gone well with indigenes of the area, especially the youths who regard Engr. Nwobodo as one of them.
On grounds of anonimity, a prominent Youth leader and a PDP stakeholder from Nkanu East reacted thus: “Uche Nwobodo is a youth empowerment expert and a grassroots mobilizer. Whatever or who ever made him to decline is not in the best interest of Nkanu East youths who have been clamouring for a generational power shift.
