Lagos: Sunday Etim, a 10 year old banana hawker had his dreams of going back to school fulfilled yesterday, Thursday, thanks to Facebook.
William Uche Mba, an Abia State born US based Entertainment star opted to sponsor his education to University level.
After seeing an online picture of the hawker sleeping on the road late in the night with his tray of bananas beside him he was deeply touched.
He at once made attempts through his friends in Lagos to locate the poor boy.
Luckily, Sunday was located the next day since from the picture, the spot he was shown in was along a popular road in Ikeja,Lagos.
Through his Nigerian contact, William put a video call through to Sunday.
He then learnt that the 10year old was from Akwa Ibom and was living what an aunt who sent him to hawk while her own children went to school.
Pronto, William’s friend took the boy home, to his aunt at Shogunle, Ikeja. She eventually acceded to Sunday’s request to be sent back to his family in Akwa Ibom State.
Like a Cinderella tale, Williams arranged for the boy to be flown back to Akwa Ibom and his family located, not even travelling by road.
Furthermore, he has promised to help his family and also sponsor the 10 year old boy to University level.
Already Sunday has landed safely in Ụtọ and has been re-united with his overjoyed parents and siblings.
